Artist Precedents
Bob Thall is another photographer I like because of the way he photographs buildings. Every building is aligned with each other and the edges of the buildings are straight which really make the photo stand out to me. This technique I want to integrate into my own images and give that structured effect to the buildings. Some examples of Bob Thall's work are above:
artist precedents
One photographer I found really interesting was Slinkachu. His work didn't relate to my proposal but I found his work really cool how he took everyday places and made them into scenes using little model people. I also liked it because it was different to other photographers who normally don't look at the world like he does. Here's some examples above. The way he takes these photos also makes them look as if these things are life size but in reality they are just little model people.

Possible photos for final?
So these are the photos that I'm most happy with.
The First photo I like how the modern buildings tower over the old building and that really backs up my proposal.
The second I like because the buildings are all staight and lined up which is cool.
The third I like because of the angle it was shot at and how there are modern buildings in the background of this historic building.
The last one I like because of the way that the modern building is seen as a reflection in a buildings window, it is a really cool effect I think.
Second Shoot
So here is my second shoot, I tried to contrast the buildings in different ways but most of them I was not happy with because they were either not alligned properly or had obstructions or whatever.

Contact sheet 1
These are my first contact sheets, the ones with a square are the one's I like and really feel that they match my proposal and really contrast the different buildings. All the other ones had minor details that I wasn't pleased with like something in the corner of the photo.
Research
So here's a couple of photos I thought were quite cool.
The first one I liked because it contrasted the old building and the more modern building, but it alsocontrasted the geometry of the two. The older building has a lot more curves while the modern building has all straight lines. This is the kind of thing I want in my photos.
The second picture I liked was because of the completely different materials that are used in each building. The older building consists of mostly brick while the modern building is pretty much all glass so these two buildings are basically complete opposites. I also like how the angle that it was shot at created that imposing feel about the modern building and how it overshadows the other one.
This last one I liked because like the others it has contrasting materials on the buildings but I also like the reflection on the glass building because it really gives a cool effect.
Proposal
So my proposal is to contrast old historic buildings on Lambton Quay with the more modern buildings that surround them to show how much they have changed throughout the years and also to ask the question whether or not these old buildings are a 'waste' of space in the modern age. They use a lot of space and are not very space efficient so I hope to achieve this effect in my photos.

Panorama
This is my First go ever at doing a panorama , it's not the greatest but it's a panorama nonetheless. I used a program called 'Photo Stitch' and I took the photos down at the waterfront. The thing I don't like about it is that the far right image has the background not in focus which is a shame. Other than that it was kinda fun to do.
